Top 10 tips for new vegans

Hi, I’m Cassia and I’m one half of the team over here at we're vegans.

I have been 100% ethical vegan for about 6 months now and previously mostly plant based for about 4 years (yes it was a long journey but  we start from the bottom and now we're here  ). Also I like to make lists so here is one for you my friends of my top tips for newbies vegans.

Do you know what a vegan is?

“A vegan is simply someone who removes the pepperonis from its pizza right?” Nope.

“Oh sorry, I meant a vegan is someone who doesn’t eat gluten right?” Again: nope.

Sound like you? Sounds terrible! Let’s fix that.

Not to be confused with a vegetarian who doesn’t eat meat, a vegan pushes it a little bit further. According to The Vegan Society, a vegan is “a person who does not eat or use animal products.”

Meat? Gone. Honey? Gone.  Eggs? Gone! CHEESE? Throw that out the window!

The typical answer I receive at that point is: “I COULD NEVER GIVE UP CHEESE!!!”

Well here at We’re Vegans, we don’t miss cheese, because we know that when done right, vegan recipes are simply delicious. We eat all kinds of fruits, vegetables, nuts, grains, seeds and legumes. By combining all of these you can literally make thousands of great dishes.
